GDax Signup Process
I was already a Coinbase user, so signing up on GDax was easy. Your coinbase account works on GDax, so all I had to do was add a second piece of ID. After that, I could connect any USD bank accounts to fund my GDax trading account.
If you have USD, GDax is perhaps the cheapest way – so the best way to buy bitcoin.
Why use GDax Bitcoin Exchange?
I had been using Coinbase for almost a year, and periodically buying Bitcoin with credit card. The fees were slightly higher, but it’s simple to just login, click purchase, and immediately receive your Bitcoin.
GDax is a little more complicated, but allows you to create orders – where as CoinBase is simply ‘buy now’ or don’t.
Where is GDax Available? Can I use it in my country?
Initially, GDax was only available in very few countries, but as time goes on they keep opening up more and more countries as the governments allow. Here is a full list of supported countries:
- United States: GDAX is only available to states where Coinbase is either licensed to engage in money transmission, where it has determined that no such license is currently required, or where licenses are not yet being issued with respect to Coinbase’s business. US states not yet supported by GDAX include: Wyoming, Hawaii, and Minnesota.
- Canada
- Europe: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech, Denmark, Finland, France, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom
- Australia
- Singapore
Fiat currency trading pairs are currently only available in USD from clients in the United States, and in Euros, from clients located in Europe or the United Kingdom (the UK also allows British Pounds).
What cryptocurrencies does GDax support?
Being owned by Coinbase, GDax supports the same 3 cryptos – Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin. In addition, they have trading pairs between each of those 3 cryptocurrencies and the fiat currencies listed above (which are only available in certain regions).
